"Sa Colarçaga"

"Sa Colarçaga" is how the people from Mahon names the very west end of the harbour.

What a few years ago was a shallow marsh today is the area where most boats of small size are moored. Also the cargo vessels, tankers and cement ships docks by the power plant.

The tree with beautiful red flowers in the power plant's garden is Erythrina coralloides  (Flame Coral Tree, Naked Coral Tree) is a species of flowering tree in the pea family, Fabaceae, that is native to eastern Mexico. It ranges from Tamaulipas south to Oaxaca and some taxonomists believe it is also native to southern Arizona in the United States.

The seeds are very poisonous, but the flowers are used  in some areas of South and Central Americas as a food source.
